Kate just smiles to herself when someone asks her about success. It wasn't always this way for her. Have you discovered her secret yet?
You won't believe where Kate had her revelation about improving her home based business. It was not at one of her weekly meetings with her up line. It was not listening to one of the many training calls that her company provides. It was not at one of the leadership conferences she attended in San Francisco, Dallas or Miami. It was not at the training session that she directs for the new people she sponsored into her business.
Kate had her great WOW moment in, of all places, her local grocery store.
As she picked up a jar of her favorite peanut butter and put it in her shopping cart, John the assistant manager, approached her with a friendly smile and a helpful attitude. John said, "Hi Kate, glad to see you in our store today. I see that you picked up some peanut butter. You might want to go over to aisle three because this week we have a bogo (Buy One Get One Free) on strawberry jam, peach preserves and blueberry jelly."
John continued, "Better yet Kate, why don't I just go get the flavor you want and I'll catch up with you in the store. That way you can continue shopping and you will be finished faster." Kate replied, "Thanks John I appreciate your help." A few minutes later John found Kate in the dairy section and gave her the two jars of strawberry jam she wanted.
"Is there anything else I can get for you today?", asked John. At that point Kate handed John a list of specialty meat cuts that she needed. John took the list, smiled and told Kate he would have her order completed and that he would meet her at the checkout.
OK. I know what you are thinking. What does all this have to do with you and your home based business?
It was at the check out when John gave her the package of specialty meat cuts she ordered that Kate had her WOW moment. Kate could shop at any of the five grocery stores in her area. But she always shopped at John's store, not because he had the lowest prices on everything, but because John took a personal interest in her grocery needs.
John refused to be just another grocery clerk. He focused on making a real contribution to Kate and all the members of her family. John had learned How To Rise Above The Pack, Be The Top Dog And Make His Dream Come True of being the number one grocery store in Kate's area by taking a genuine interest in his customers.
Instantly, Katie understood that this personal attention was what she needed to provide to her team members and customers for her home based business if she wanted to get to the next level. Instead of just trying to recruit people for her business, Kate finally started to make a real contribution to their lives.
Are you going to rise above the pack, be the top dog and make your home based business dreams come true because you make a sincere contribution to peoples lives?
