San Francisco Airport Parking Solutions

The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) was ranked in 2008 by the Airports Council International as the 10th largest airport in the United States, serving a total of 37,405,467 passengers that year. SFO is the second biggest airport in the state of California and is located about 13 miles south of Downtown San Francisco. Parking options at San Francisco International include long-term and short-term, on-site lots as well as money saving off-site lots and free passenger drop-off, pick-up and waiting areas.

The Domestic Parking Garage

The Domestic Parking Garage at SFO is perfect for short term parking when you're traveling on a short trip or meeting arriving domestic passengers at the terminals. It's a 5 minute walk to the terminals from the Domestic Parking Garage, which has short access tunnels that lead to the terminals. The Garage has 5-levels and can be found by following the Domestic Terminal signs under the International Terminal. Look for the "hourly" parking sings to find the entrance. The actual garage has color-coded sections for each airline. It's $2 for 20 minutes and there's a $33 24-hour maximum.

International Parking Garages A and G

There are two International Parking garages at SFO, one on the south side of the airport and one on the north side, and both within a 10-minute walk from the terminals. The International Terminal signs are easy to follow and all terminals can be accessed through these garages through either the pedestrian tunnels or the AirTrain. It's $2 per 20 minutes to park at the International Parking spaces, and a maximum 24-hour limit of $20.

SFO Long-Term Parking

The new long-term parking lot at SFO is the closest indoor long-term parking option available, located a quick shuttle ride away from the main terminals. It costs $14 dollars per day, not bad compared to other major airports' long-term parking prices.

Cell Phone Waiting Lot

If you're just coming to pick up an arriving passenger and don't want to go through the hassle of parking at one of the lots, you can use the free cell phone waiting lot. Spaces are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Just arrive and wait for your passenger to get off the plane and call you. You can then meet them at the terminal pick up area. No unattended vehicles are allowed at the cell phone waiting lot and there's a limit of 60 minutes.
